Episode Twenty Four

May 9th, 2009 by wsbaxter

Welcome to our latest episode, hosted by Benjy and Craig.  They have begged me not to edit this episode and so, in the interest of student voice, I’ve left it untouched.  However, I can’t say I like hearing my name so often and taken in vain!  Despite this, there is a great interview with Mr Grinstead who is a past pupil of the school as well as currently working as a teaching assistant and school governor.  We also hear two of the podcasts put together by Y8 students as part of their cross-curricular project on Malawi.  Many thanks to Peatry, our Malawian guest for volunteering to be interviewed.  I do hope that he listens to this in Malawi (if you do Peatry, please leave us a comment).

Episode Eighteen

November 15th, 2008 by wsbaxter

Have you got to this website from the link on the Driffield School website?  If so then take a listen as this episode features a review of the new school website by two members of M1 - Jordan Corrigan and George Allerston.  Our major feature this week is an interview with Mr Iain Kimberley who is a member of the Teenage Cancer Trust Education Team.  Mr Kimberley kindly addressed both Holtby and Johnson Houses in their assemblies recently to mark  Charities Week.  The Teenage Cancer Trust is the East Building charity.  In addition, we also hear from Miss Langley and some Fawcett students about their house charity, When You Wish Upon A Star.

Below is a picture of Mr Kimberley from the TCT (centre) just after being presented with a cheque for £1000 which was raised by staff and students of Johnson and Holtby Houses.
